RV Roadside Assistance – Worth It?

RV Roadside Assistance is Smart, Stress Free-ing, and Safe.  You may think that the roadside assistance club you pay for each year will help you with your RV.  It will not – in most cases.  So while we always strive to minimize the need for assistance on the road, there are times when we need to call someone to the RV Rescue.

Why Would I Need RV Roadside Assistance?

There could be a myriad of reasons that you may need assistance on the road and we will list a few.

  1. Things made of rubber: tires, belts, hoses, etc.  Whenever any of these items fail while RV roadside assistanceon the road it usually renders your RV as broken down (in spite of our best
efforts, tires were the most common issue in the rental business – usually due to a combination of heat and driver error.
  2. Health Issues for the driver or for that matter anyone occupying the RV while in transit.
  3. Fuel: Something as simple as running out of fuel is a reason to call for emergency help or roadside assistance.
  4. Road hazards or Weather Conditions that may render you immobile may also be a good reason to have and make a contact for assistance.
  5. Accidents: It is also possible that an incident such as an accident might give cause to call for help.

Is it Worth It?

Let me tell you a story:

For the longest time in the rental business we handled roadside issues ourselves; seeking our the nearest repair shop, tow truck, tire service, etc.  This worked fine, but was very stressful for us and our customers.  Plus, we never knew exactly who we were going to get for the job.  Would they be honest and trustworthy?

Then we happened upon a commercial rv roadside assistance program that would work with our rental fleet.  What a difference!   We still took the calls but the work of finding a reputable and reliable service near the customer fell on the company.  They would take over after our initial call and our customers were thrilled.

Okay – so what does that have to do with the individual?  Well its the same thing.  If you are RVing Colorado and are traveling in Oregon, how do you know who to call?  The Roadside Assistance programs will have you covered.  Plus many, like the Good Sam Club (Celebrating 30 years of successful roadside rescues. Good Sam Roadside Assistance. Learn More!), come with additional benefits and money-saving opportunities.

Having said these things we hope that your travels remain stress free and trouble-free. But when a situation arrives it is always nice to know that you have a backup, such as the ones we have listed, to assist in times of need.
